About Me
Derek, a Nashville native, spent 16 years as a music educator at Father Ryan High School, specializing in percussion.
After transitioning to financial education, he now helps clients achieve their financial goals by leveraging his background in teaching and fostering trust through honesty and integrity. Derek earned his Bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and has been part of three drumline world championships, both as a teacher and performer. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Kim, and they have two children, Madison and Carson. They reside in Nashville, where Derek enjoys family travel, grilling, and supporting his favorite sports teams. Derek serves on the Board of Directors at Waves Inc. and is the Vice President of his BNI “Business Leaders” Chapter. He holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 66 licenses, Life and Health Insurance licenses, and the Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC) designation, specializing in financial planning for families with special needs.
