Gary Owens

Gary Owens is a financial professional with a heart for service and a lifelong commitment to education.

A proud Texan, Gary spent 34 years as a band director and music educator across West Texas and throughout the state before transitioning into the financial services profession. He earned his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and his graduate degree from East Texas A&M University (formerly Texas A&M University–Commerce). Now beginning his third year with New York Life, Gary serves as both a Registered Representative and licensed insurance agent. He works closely with experienced mentors and a team of specialists to help individuals, families, and business owners develop strategies designed to protect what matters most and build long-term financial confidence. Gary brings the same dedication, integrity, and personal attention to financial services that defined his career in education. His approach is rooted in building meaningful relationships, listening carefully, and guiding clients through important decisions with clarity and care. Outside of his professional work, Gary has been married to his wife for 30 years and is the proud father of a son currently pursuing graduate studies in trombone performance in Arkansas. He remains actively involved in music education, occasionally performing and supporting local programs, and is deeply engaged in his church community. Above all, Gary values faith, family, and the opportunity to serve others.
