Jonathan Kim has over 30 years of asset, legal, and executive management experience gained in the US and internationally.
In addition to his role as an alternative investment advisor with Silicon Valley-based Zanbato Securities LLC, he maintains a private legal practice focusing on complex corporate, governance, and regulatory matters. He is also a Founder of the Miami-based Crypto-Blockchain Bar Association start-up. Jonathan has served as a senior advisor to the Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia Law School and is currently a guest lecturer at the University of Miami’s Herbert Business School in their Business Law Department. Previously, Jonathan was General Counsel and Secretary for the Bermuda-based Montpelier Group of companies (NYSE: MRH), including the Group’s ground-breaking insurtech platform linked to alternative, insurance-based risk. Earlier in his career, Jonathan gained extensive experience in investment management and financial advisory services with AXA Advisors LLC, in internet strategy and sales with Modem Media Inc. (now part of the Publicis Groupe), and in corporate law and litigation with a Wall Street law firm and the United States Department of Justice. He has been a co-founder, advisor and Outside Counsel to start-up companies in the insurance, healthcare consulting, SaaS, and consumer packaged goods sectors. In addition to his investment, legal, and management backgrounds, Jonathan has served on numerous boards of directors in both the private and not-for-profit arenas. Jonathan obtained his bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature from Brown University, his MBA with a dual concentration in Finance and Strategy from Yale University, and his JD from Georgetown University, including study at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Jonathan is a member of the state and federal bars of Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a CFP®, ChFC®, and CLU® and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses as well as various real estate, life, and health insurance licenses and is a dual US/Italian citizen. Originally from Boston and based in Miami, Jonathan, his wife Gabrielle (and their very pampered dog, Gatsby) also have personal and professional roots in New York City.
