I was raised in Cannon Falls, MN and graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2001.
I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Finance in a fairly new Personal Financial Planning program that was established at Mankato in 1997. Time moves pretty fast and it's hard to believe I now have over two decades of experience as a financial planner. Truthfully, I still feel pretty young but writing 'two decades' makes me sound kind of old (not to mention the gray...thinning hair). Most people come to talk to me when they have a change in their lives. In some respects, I've become a financial problem solver by helping people become aware of different financial options they might have to help them reach their goals. More specifically, my key focus has become helping business owners, pre-retiree's, retiree's, surviving spouses and heirs navigate money decisions. Over the years, those four key moments in my clients lives have been where I've felt the most helpful and where I've felt the most gratification. Some of those conversations are hard but the acquired knowledge of helping many people through those situations is one of the reasons I feel I was called to this career. It's almost embarrassing to list out my 'Credentials' and 'Community Involvement' but I guess that's what people feel compelled to do in a bio. Ultimately, my core values are really what's important. Those values are how my parents raised me and what my life experience has given me. Treating people fairly and honestly, doing the right thing and working hard (for my family, community and clients) are important to me. As any human being, I'm not perfect but those are three areas I do my best to be intentional about. Actions speak louder than words, so I guess maybe that's what the 'Credentials' and 'Community Involvement' list is there for. I still enjoy attempting to play competitive sports (competitive in terms of a person in their mid-40's), spending time coaching kids and a little bit of hunting/fishing. Tammy and I are proud parents of three young adults that humble us in many ways every day. We are grateful to be part of the Cannon Falls community where we both grew up. We love to play cards (500 and cribbage specifically) and board games, watch high school sports and also enjoy boating and traveling in North America. Maybe someday we'll expand our travels but long plane rides are bit of a barrier for both of us. This is the link to my bio on my website https://www.keithmeyers.com/team/keith-r-meyers-clu-chfccfp
