I’ve watched what happens when a business owner makes a life-changing decision without seeing the full picture—and I never want that to be someone’s story.
I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. I saw firsthand what it takes to build a business while also protecting your family and your values. Running a company isn’t just about profit and loss. It’s about stewardship. It’s about responsibility. It’s about carrying decisions that affect employees, spouses, children, and future generations. But I also saw how isolating that responsibility can be. Business owners are often expected to have all the answers. They’re making high-stakes decisions about growth, hiring, reinvesting, selling, or transitioning—and many times they don’t have a trusted sounding board who can help them think through the long-term ramifications. Too often, they find out after the fact that better options were available. That frustration is what led me to start Rooted Financial Advisors. I’ve seen owners exit well—with clarity, preparation, and confidence. And I’ve seen others exit poorly—unprepared for taxes, undervaluing their business, or misaligned with their personal goals. When I realized how preventable many of those outcomes were, I knew I wanted to build something different. I wanted to be a resource business owners could trust before decisions are made, not after consequences show up. At the core of my work are three values: Grace, Truth, and Abundance. Grace allows us to acknowledge what’s been done without shame or regret. Truth gives us clarity about where we stand and what the numbers are really telling us. And Abundance reminds us that there is usually more than one path forward. When I work with business owners, I seek to understand first. I want to know what they’ve built, what they value, and what kind of legacy they want to leave. From there, we model scenarios, explore options, and illuminate trade-offs—so decisions are made from clarity, not pressure. I care deeply about this work because I know what a business represents. It’s years of sacrifice. It’s missed weekends. It’s risk and resilience. And when it comes time to transition or exit, that life’s work deserves thoughtful planning. When you understand your options before you have to choose, everything changes. That’s why I do what I do—to help business owners move forward with clarity, confidence, and a plan that reflects their faith, their family, and the future they’re building.
