A native Oregonian and Marine Corps veteran, Phillip Smith learned discipline, integrity, and resilience while serving as an avionics technician with the legendary VMA‑214 “Black Sheep” squadron.
Those values still shape his work ethic and client relationships today. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Oregon with a BA in English and a focus on writing and critical reasoning, Phillip earned the Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor® (CRPC) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF) designations. He also holds Series 7 and 66 registrations and an Oregon Life/Health license. Phillip is currently pursuing his Tax Planning Certified Professional (TPCP) designation. What Phillip does best: --Guides self‑employed professionals and senior executives who are five to ten years from retirement --Designs tax‑efficient income plans so clients keep more of what they’ve earned --Coordinates investment, risk, and estate strategies into one adaptive roadmap --Translates complex decisions into plain‑language next steps Why clients choose Phillip: --Marine‑level discipline ensures tasks get done and follow‑through never slips --Teacher’s heart - honed as a military technical instructor - turns jargon into clarity --Values‑driven approach keeps every recommendation aligned with what matters most to the client --Community and life outside the office Phillip has served on the boards of Oregon Community Credit Union and Neighborhood Church in Albany. Free time is family time: neighborhood walks, coaching youth sports, building epic Lego creations, and the occasional adult‑league basketball game (high enthusiasm, variable highlight reels).
